Did you know that you can apply for funded therapeutic yoga for your adopted child or children?
As an approved adoption support fund (ASF) provider through Adopt South West and Devon County Council, I welcome enquiries from adoptive parents, social workers and local authorities.
I specialise in Trauma Informed Therapeutic Yoga for adopted children and work with Somerset and Devon County Councils Children's Services, providing funded yoga therapy to adopted children, either in their school or online via Skype or Zoom.
Adoptive parents, foster carers and guardians often feel in need of support, when their child is experiencing attachment difficulties and childhood trauma.
Yoga therapy for children has so many physical, emotional and mental benefits.
The gentle, non-judgemental practice and discipline of yoga postures, breathing techniques and sound therapies provide children with tools for coping with anxiety and other difficult emotions, helping to process trauma and loss.
Through the practice of yoga, the child can develop emotional regulation, sensory integration and self-control, increase focus and attention; and improve motor function, balance, coordination, and strength, whilst having fun.
Yoga builds confidence and resilience; helps to develop the child's focus and engagement, bringing a sense of well-being, confidence and self-esteem and helping them to feel more relaxed, leading to improved relationships, behaviour and social interaction.
Contact me or your Social Worker to discuss Yoga Therapy for your adopted child.
