Adults with special needs and limitations can greatly benefit from yoga. When they become familiar with the yoga poses, some can practice the postures by themselves, whether it would be to instil relaxation or build a sense of self–control when they feel anxious, tired or frustrated.
For adults with special needs or developmental disabilities, yoga can have positive benefits on their physical and mental health and well-being, including increased strength, balance, flexibility and stamina, it helps to decrease stress and anxiety and improves mental and physical health.
The Yoga sessions are adapted for any level of ability or mobility and are tailored to the individual’s needs.

Wendy has been an amazing Yoga instructor for our service supporting adults with learning disabilities. Whether in person or over Zoom, she is always coming up with creative and flexible options to allow all of the individuals we support to get involved. Regardless of ability this is a service that has been loved by everyone at the Hive, and always leaves us feeling relaxed and refreshed.
